Project Overview
Founded in 2006 by brothers Porez Luxama and Fr. Juan Luxama — Haitian immigrants who navigated the challenges of building a new life in Brooklyn — Life of Hope (LOH) was built on love, compassion, and a deep commitment to community. For nearly two decades, LOH has been a lifeline for Central Brooklyn residents, offering culturally responsive services that educate, empower, and transform lives.
In 2024, Life of Hope acquired a property in East Flatbush to establish its permanent headquarters. Located at 4123 Avenue D, the new Community Hub will serve as both the administrative home for the organization and the central location for delivering its core services. This facility will be a vital resource for the surrounding community, providing programming and support aimed at advancing health, educational and economic outcomes.
